The Sunset-to-Las Vegas Ride! |
|
Your eyes open slowly in the
very early morning. The stars still shine and you wonder
where you are. The air is cool, and the moon softly
lights your surroundings. Sand, Joshua trees, and a few
cacti are highlighted by moon-inspired shadows. The only
non-native elements to the desert are a small group of
sleeping riders, and, of course, the Harleys standing
nearby. Above is one of the things you can't understand until you feel it. We are excited to tell you that you can experience it with us. We are passionate about our rides because of the awe-inspiring moments of our trips. We are equally inspired by seeing tour members experience such feelings for the first time. The Sunset-to-Las Vegas ride begins in Los Angeles. We cruise Sunset Boulevard through Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Need we say more? Then, we head for the lights and wealth of Las Vegas, Nevada. The trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas is spectacular. We pass the Angeles National Forest before crossing the Mojave Desert. Once across the Nevada border, it is not long to Las Vegas. Vegas is known around the world for many things, but most significantly cowboys, flashing neon lights, and gambling. We stay in Las Vegas for two days, and what you do is up to you. Gambling, swimming in fancy hotel pools, and watching world famous Las Vegas shows are all options. Shower good after you win in Vegas, though, because like all good bikers we return to L.A. on our Harleys. |
The California Coastline Ride! |
|
This is always a favorite tour because of the
diversity of landscapes. We begin in Venice, one of the world's most filmed beaches, before heading
north along Sunset Strip and through the Santa Monica Mountains to the
Rock Store on Mulholland Highway. For years this out-of-the-way
BBQ joint has called on Los Angeles' motorcycle riders. It is one
of many famous biker haunts along this journey; The Deer Lodge and Camp
Scheideck are two other roadhouses we pass on today's ride. The second days ride is spectacular as we pass through farmlands, Fresno, and Sierra National Forrest to Yosemite National Park. Sheer rock-face cliffs, waterfalls, abundant wildlife, thousand year old Giant Sequoia trees assault the senses as we wind through this awesome place. Then over to San Francisco for a relaxing afternoon and evening down town and at Fisherman's Wharf. Our next stop is Hollister, California, famous for the 1947 motorcycle riot which the Marlin Brando Film, Wild One is based on. We eat lunch at Johnny's, the same bar that Wino Willy rode into on his Harley in 1947. The area surrounding Hollister is great for getting a taste of the old cowboy days of farming and ranching and the old seaport days of Cannery Row, which inspired Charles Dickens. We stay downtown in Monterey. The route from Monterey to Los Angeles is one of the most awe-inspiring rides in the world. The coastline twists along flat, sandy beaches and high, rocky cliffs as we travel along 300 miles of California seashore through Big Sur, Pismo Beach, Santa Barbara, Malibu, and the Santa Monica Mountains. This tour has everything: Los Angeles, one of the most influential cities in the world, and the naturally beautiful desert and mountain wilderness. Sitting, talking, and listening to the waves crash is always a fantastic and memorable experience. We never tire of this great feeling of friendship and freedom. |
The Christian Spirit Ride!
| Tour Date: March 7 - 9, 2008 The Spirit Ride is a non-alcoholic tour. This is a ride for American and International bikers to share each other's faith and companionship while doing what they love--riding. It is a time for men and women to meditate, read, pray, and reflect upon their faith in God while they enjoy the life God has given them by rumbling down beautiful, sunny California roads on a Harley. The Spirit Ride is a time of questioning why we exist and trying to understand how best to serve God. This is definitely a ride where miracles take place. The Spirit Ride is a very unique and special ride. Contact us for more detailed information about this fantastic event! |
The Route 66 to Grand Canyon Ride! |
|
Some names come to invoke a
spirit of meaning. Route 66 is one of these. Since its
early beginnings, Route 66, also known as the mother
road, has linked the West to the United States. It acted
as the artery of early adventurers. It also supported the
dream of starving people who traveled West in hopes of
finding jobs during the 1930's. Route 66 has many faces. While traveling Old Route 66 you can see remnants of Cowboy and Native American Indian culture. You can also see the neon-style drive-in and diner signs left from the Hollywood migration days. Route 66 symbolizes many things to many individuals, and each person who travels Route 66 gets something different from the experience. We begin the Route 66 to Grand Canyon Ride where Route 66 meets the Pacific Ocean. We ride 66 through Los Angeles and out into the sandy deserts of Western California and into Arizona. Once into Arizona, it isn't far to one of the world's seven natural wonders--the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is over a mile deep and many miles wide in places. Like Route 66, the name Grand Canyon stands alone with a full mythology of meaning. We camp near the edge of the fascinating canyon enjoying its majestic power. You have to see it to believe it. |
The Hollister 4th-of-July Ride! |
|
If you haven't seen the
classic movie The Wild One, you should. Starring
Marlon Brando, The Wild One is based on a July 4,
1947 riot in Hollister, California. Hollister has become
a Mecca for American bikers who want to see the place
where it all happened. Visiting Hollister on a Harley is a must for all bikers. The small, sleepy town of Hollister is located in one of the most beautiful spots in the world between exciting Los Angeles and scenic San Francisco. On this ride, you will see both. You will also experience the famous Santa Monica mountains and miles of coastline running through such places as Big Sur, Santa Barbara, and Malibu. Bring your camera for this one. Guaranteed, you have never seen so many spectacular sites in such a short period of time. California has it all: world famous beaches, awesome mountains, and of course the fascinating cities. Wouldn't you like a photo of you, a Harley, and these sites behind you? Watch out for Kermit, though; he likes to sneak into photos with his Chopper. |
The Sturgis Ride! |
|
If you had to choose one ride
to do in your life, this should be it. Sturgis, South
Dakota, hosts the most exciting annual gathering of
Bikers in the world. The Sturgis Rally began in 1938. It
has grown to a world wide motorcycle event which
attracted more than 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts in
2006. The Sturgis Rally is special because Bikers from all walks of life join each other with a common love of motorcycles and freedom. At Sturgis, you will see everything from business executives riding their first Harley to Hells Angels on their super chopped Shovelheads. Sturgis is one of the last places to see true legends live the life they love. The Sturgis Ride, however, is not exclusively about the event. In keeping with Biker tradition, Ride Free Motorcycle Tours rides to Sturgis from Los Angeles. The ride is amazing for two reasons. First, because of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, which soar into the Western skies. We ride through Zion, Flaming Gorge, and into famous Yellowstone Nat'l Park, where you can see bear, bison, moose, wolves, eagles, and many other wild animals. The Sturgis Ride is also exceptional because all of the motorcycles on the road are heading the same direction. We continually meet new people, and the group seems to grow larger and larger the closer we get to Sturgis. If you're on a Harley, and you're heading toward Sturgis, you become a brother or sister to all those doing the same. The excitement grows as we near Sturgis, and many stories are exchanged as we ride home. Click here to learn more about the Sturgis Rally then come back and sign on to ride. It is an experience you will never forget! NOTE: The cost for this tour is for Harley-Davidson Rental, tax, insurance, and itinerary only. Although we give detailed information about the ride, this is not a guided tour. |

We ride up Old Route 66 into Arizona to Grand Canyon, where we sleep in quaint cabins right on the edge of the Canyon. The ride home is through Laughlin, Nevada and into the California desert to Palm Springs before returning to Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean. Note: Many other tour groups avoid curvy roads and cities because riding in these areas is more difficult. We don't. Half the fun of being on a Harley is being seen. Much of the time we are in nature, but we do hit the cities. Some think we like to show off, and maybe they're right. Why not? However, we are very careful wherever we ride.
